Warning response

Overheat warning

What you may observe

  • The overheat warning indicator illuminates or flashes.
  • The warning buzzer sounds.
  • Engine speed is reduced automatically while the warning system is active.

What it means

The warning indicates that engine temperature has risen abnormally high.

Immediate safe response

Stop the engine safely and inspect the cooling-water inlet. If the cause cannot be found and corrected, obtain Yamaha dealer assistance.

Possible causes to check

Causes are model-specific possibilities, not confirmed diagnoses. Use only the group for your model.

Yamaha F150A

  • Restricted cooling-water inlet: A blocked or insufficiently submerged cooling-water inlet is one documented condition to inspect after an overheat warning. It is a possible cause, not a confirmed diagnosis.
